Happy Pill

Whenever I have to stay awake and work during nights, I normally just gobble coffee from the office pantry. The husband often advised me to take mountain dew instead because of its higher caffeine content. I have noticed though when I’m sleepy, I’m sleepy, no amount of caffeine can keep me awake.  Recently, I found my new “happy pill”. Its the sunkist soda. I only know of the sunkist juice but not the soda. The first time I took a sip of this thirst quencher, it left me awake for 3 days! It doesn’t sound good I know but it made me energetic and most of all creative. At nights before sleep (if I will get any), I would often talk to the husband about my insights in life or sometimes I can compose a poem in my head within minutes.

I was curious why it has that effect on me so I tried to research about it. I found out that Sunkist has caffeine on it compared to its competitors who has none. According to mayoclinic.com, mountain dew still has higher caffeine content compare to this orange soda.

The thing is I don’t drink mountain dew as much as sunkist. So I guess that makes the difference – how much I’m taking. Whatever the reason is, I like my Sunkist because makes me energetic and creative which ultimately makes me productive.
