I’m Still Here

Yes, I’m still alive and kicking.  The Husband has been down with a flu so I took some time off the net and spent time taking care of him.  He’s feeling so much better now which makes us both happy.  Now, I have not been very productive lately which makes me annoyed with myself.  Normally, I can find 101 ways to keep me busy but I lately, I’m just not in the mood.  Oh well, its just one of those days when I just feel blah.  I know it will go away soon.

Something Fishy

For more than a week now, I have become a pesco-vegetarian by chance.  I have not been eating any pork, chicken or beef but just vegetables and fish.  I’m currently experimenting if this will improve my digestive system since I often suffer stomach problems.  From time to time, I still give in to my sweet tooth by eating a little bit of chocolate and today vanilla ice cream.  I don’t know how long I will keep up with it but I’m determined to lose weight.  I have been exercising every day too so I hope that will help as well.

Learning is Fun

Science has always been my favorite subject in school excluding those topics that require computations.  Hehe.   I know that I don’t share that liking with most students during that time.  We don’t get extra help back then so we are basically out on our own.  You have to keep up with other students else you will have to repeat the entire semester.  Since one of my greatest fear as a student was failing, I had to study extra hard which of course paid of because not only did I pass but I was able to get into the honor roll.

With our new discoveries and great technologies today, education has become more interesting.  We still do have those boring science books but students can now take advantage of exhibits like Grossology Exhibit – Orlando Science Center.  It is not your typical science museum because visitors can partake in different interesting and fun activities.  Families can enjoy themselves in exhibits like this instead of going to the malls looking at the usual things. If you live in the Orlando area, I suggest to bring your family at the Orlando Science Center and try out this new exhibit which will premier on January 31st.

Timmy Love

I want to share another one of my new layouts.  I made another one for Timmy.  I just miss this little guy so much.  He was one of my best pets in this lifetime.  Anyway, if you gotten hold of the kit I used, you will notice that I arrange it just the same as the cover of the kit.  I like it so much that I just had to make exactly that way except for Timmy’s initial.

Journaling:
Everyday I still think about you
I still find it hard to accept that you are gone
Sometimes I imagine you are outside waiting by the door like you always do
I miss your faint meow and your loud purring too
Timmy, wherever you are, Mommy and Daddy loves you

Life Online

Sometimes the Husband asks me why I don’t get bored just staying at home.  I often answer him “as long as there is internet”.  When our dsl service is down, he would catch me in a grouchy mood.  Hehe.  My laptop has been my all around appliance.  Aside from the usual internet stuff like browsing, blogging, chatting, it also has become my music player, television, phone and so many more.

The internet has provided me with endless possibilities.  It has been an avenue for me to learn new skills from cooking, gardening even to as simple as french braiding my own hair.  That is why it is important for me to be able to find things quickly online. If I’m in the mood of trying out a new recipe, I just go to Find.com Search Engine then look for that moist chocolate cake recipe that I have been craving for.  More and more people are taking advantage of the internet.  Old age doesn’t stop our grandparents to discover something new online.  Even for technologically challenged folks, they won’t have trouble remembering the name of the search engine like find.com.  It is pretty basic.

In this information age, people are willing to share their knowledge and skills online.  I always make sure though that I read the right stuff because not everything online is correct.  There are so many hoaxes too.  Reading peoples comments helps especially if you are going to purchase products online.

Kung Hei Fat Choi

Today marks the start of the New Year based on the Chinese calendar.  There are no chinatown in sight here so I will miss the tikoy (sticky rice) and the dragon dance.  Chinese New Year wiouldn’t be complete without the predictions for this year.  Any pinoy would know that.  Hehe.  This year is said to be the year of the Earth Ox (sometimes also referred as Earth Cow).  Since oxes are slow but hard workers, it said that things will be slow and steady this year.  This year we will have to give our best yet be patient so we can reap the fruits of our labor.  Fair enough, I think.  In a lighter perspective, this year should also give us some downtime to spend more quality time with our family and friends.  I think I like this year.  I hope it can top my 2008 though.
