Life Online

Sometimes the Husband asks me why I don’t get bored just staying at home.  I often answer him “as long as there is internet”.  When our dsl service is down, he would catch me in a grouchy mood.  Hehe.  My laptop has been my all around appliance.  Aside from the usual internet stuff like browsing, blogging, chatting, it also has become my music player, television, phone and so many more.

The internet has provided me with endless possibilities.  It has been an avenue for me to learn new skills from cooking, gardening even to as simple as french braiding my own hair.  That is why it is important for me to be able to find things quickly online. If I’m in the mood of trying out a new recipe, I just go to Find.com Search Engine then look for that moist chocolate cake recipe that I have been craving for.  More and more people are taking advantage of the internet.  Old age doesn’t stop our grandparents to discover something new online.  Even for technologically challenged folks, they won’t have trouble remembering the name of the search engine like find.com.  It is pretty basic.

In this information age, people are willing to share their knowledge and skills online.  I always make sure though that I read the right stuff because not everything online is correct.  There are so many hoaxes too.  Reading peoples comments helps especially if you are going to purchase products online.

Kung Hei Fat Choi

Today marks the start of the New Year based on the Chinese calendar.  There are no chinatown in sight here so I will miss the tikoy (sticky rice) and the dragon dance.  Chinese New Year wiouldn’t be complete without the predictions for this year.  Any pinoy would know that.  Hehe.  This year is said to be the year of the Earth Ox (sometimes also referred as Earth Cow).  Since oxes are slow but hard workers, it said that things will be slow and steady this year.  This year we will have to give our best yet be patient so we can reap the fruits of our labor.  Fair enough, I think.  In a lighter perspective, this year should also give us some downtime to spend more quality time with our family and friends.  I think I like this year.  I hope it can top my 2008 though.

Take a Bow

Did you watch Obama’s inauguration?  I haven’t but I had to rely on the pictures afterwards.  I won’t be posting about politic stuff but I just want to mention that I like Aretha’s hat.  Is that you Blair Waldorf?

Its Up!

Finally, after some downtime, the blog is up.  My blog was down for 2 days so I was miserable abou it of course.  I do have a life, hehe but I don’t like my stuff not working when it has been paid for. I’m just glad that its back again.  Is this yet another sign of mercury retrograde? Oh well, need to make those back posts.

Making History

Today is an important day for the american people.  Barack Hussein Obama II took his oath today as the 44th president of the United States of America.  During his campaign, he often mentions “change”.  The world will be watching for this changes to take place.  I hope its all for the better.  I need to get used to hearing “President Obama” in the news as opposed to “Senator Obama.”.
