Decorating Ideas
Don’t you sometimes get tired of the look of your room? I like variety so from time to time, I rearrange the furniture just so it will look different. There are times though that I want to make big changes like getting one of those luxurious vessel sinks. I’m currently limited to the changes I can make because one, we are in recession and two, we are only renting. Any renovations will just be a waste since we don’t own this place. In the mean time, I scoured the internet and look for different ways to revamp our home. Here are some decorating tips for a girl on a budget:
- Rugs to riches
Rugs can add pizzaz to a boring white room. It can act as a focal point of the room and it gives the room more personality. - A hole in the wall
If you can’t afford paintings from big name artists why not use wall decals instead. No need to bore holes in the walls. - Be green
Adding a plant adds instant color and it gives a fresh look to the room. - Pillow fight
I have noticed when watching decorating shows, they always add colorful pillows. It ties the whole theme of the room together and it doesn’t cost much. - Old World Charm
Sometimes it pays to check out garage sales and thrift stores. If you look around, you just might find an interesting piece like an armoire with a nice detailed carving.
LO Share: Hairy Tales
It has been awhile since I shared digital layouts in this blog. For some reason, I’ve been wanting to make something creative this past few days. I do love creating digital scrapbook layouts but somehow I wanted something that is tangible so I can feel the texture of my work. I have been browsing several online craft stores and oh my I would love to get tons of supplies. I have a set of plain and colored cardstock for my card making hobby but I don’t have printed papers and extra tools. Due to budget constraints, I have contented myself in making a digital layout for now but one of these days, I will do a traditional layout just for the fun of it.
Anyway, here’s a layout of my ever changing hairstyle this year. It seems a lot but the short haircut is actually the extreme. For more of my projects, you can head over to my arts and crafts blog. Thanks for looking!

Happy Father’s Day

To my Father-in-law (the husband’s stepfather),
Thank you for your guidance and support and for considering me a part of your family. It may sound cliche but I do really feel lucky to have great in-laws.
To my Father-in-law (the husband’s father),
Although we haven’t met yet, I can feel your genuine warmth in yourletters. If there’s one thing that I’m most grateful for its for bringing your son into this world.
And to my Papa,
You have been one of the greatest influence in my life. We may not agree on some things but nobody can deny that I’m your daughter.
Happy Father’s Day!
Sweet Tooth
If there’s one thing that I’m quite frustrated about when I was growing up, its my teeth. I’m not a big fan of dentists so I guess that didn’t help. My teeth looks ‘normal’ according to folks I asked but for me I think they are very crooked. I want them perfectly aligned so my only solution are pricey braces. I only got them when I started working. I made sure that this plan will just have to be fulfilled. I saved up for it and went to our nearby dentist. She is not as good as a Plano Dentist but good enough for an average working girl that is me.

my ugly duckling phase
It wasn’t easy being a metal mouth. Every month, my dentist have to tighten my braces. Right after that procedure, my gums would feel swollen but I’m still lucky that I was not plagued with mouth sores like other metal mouths.
Before I got married and moved out of the country , my dentist had to take them out earlier than scheduled. Although, I can say that my teeth could look even better if I had enough time to keep it longer, I’m still satisfied with the results. I also noticed that I smile more now in pictures compared to my pre-braces days. Its amazing how little improvements can build self esteem.
PC Issues
I have been absent from this blog in a couple of days due to some regular pc maintenance. It was done in just a day but there was a last minute change of plans. The husband changed my laptop to our spare one. I’m now using a better and newer HP Compaq Presario. It performs faster than my than my old Toshiba. There are still customizations that I need to do and I’m waiting for a part in the mail. All in all, I’m happy with this new one.
