WW: Glossy Reader
To lighten up the mood a bit on this blog, I’m joining this week’s wordless Wednesday. After a quick bathroom break, I caught this little boy getting his hands on the magazine. I quickly grabbed my camera and snap a pic. After that, well, he won’t budge and just wants it all to himself.

Online Donation
Here is another option to help for those of us who are not able to volunteer or to donate in kind like me. A group of bloggers organized an online donation that will benefit PNRC (Philippine National Red Cross). If you live outside the Philippines, you can send in your donations via paypal. Click the widget below and donate any amount you can for typhoon Ondoy victims. It is a legit site and accredited by PNRC. If you want further details about this project, you can visit www.philippineaid.com
Animals Need Help Too

They are often the forgotten victims of calamities like this. PAWS also needs donation for the rescue pets. I snagged this info straight from paws.org.ph :

Typhoon Ondoy
This past weekend a very tragic turn of events happened in my home country, the Philippines. It was hit really hard by the typhoon Ondoy (international name: Ketsana). It brought a lot of rainfall that flooded the metro and all its surrounding areas. It has gotten worse that people were stuck on the roofs of their houses needing rescue. Just check out google images and youtube and you will see what I mean. I’m thankful that my family and loved ones are safe but a lot of people need help. I’m re-posting this off of google:

The Emmys

Olive Snook and Benjamin Linus
Before I go hunting for free directory submissions, I just want to mention about the recent emmy awards. I’m so happy that my two bets won this year. Kristen Chenoweth won as best supporting actress in a comedy for Pushing Daisies. She did well on the show and I liked it even more when she sings on some scenes. I miss the show.
I hope ABC or another network will bring it back. It was a lovely show. Kudos to Bryan Fuller!
Michael Emerson also won an award that night for LOST. He is such a good actor that even when he is just being Michael, he still gives me the creeps. Haha. Benjamin Linus will always be in my nightmares.
Cooking and More Cleaning
And so these past few days I have been working my ass off cleaning the entire house to keep me busy. The husband got three consecutive days of double shifts which gives me a lot more time in my hands. It has been a tiring half week but all is well because we have both been productive. I sometimes sneak in some game time in facebook and watching again Boys Over Flowers. I know, I like Lee Min-Ho just like I used to like Jerry Yan. Hehe. It must be the character that they play from the manga. It makes me miss the Husband though.
Anyway, this weekend I’m looking forward for some R&R. I have also been cooking pinoy food this week. He gained weight again because of our American diet. Now you know why I’m always in the lookout for the best diet pills. We decided to change our usual grilled food to my home cook pinoy food. The husband is willing to try them out as long as they are not spicy. So far, he liked beef nilaga and chicken curry. The next in line in our menu list are ginisang pechay (sauteed bokchoy), chicken afritada and chopsuey (stir fried veggies). I’m enjoying this because I get to cook again my favorite dishes and more importantly eat them.
Another Day
…of cleaning for me. I still feel tired from yesterday’s chores but I need to keep on going. Our room looks and smells really clean. I cleaned every corner of our bedroom. Hopefully, there will be less dust collected in our AC filters. One more room left to clean which is slotted for tomorrow. And look at this, I still have time to blog a bit.
I’m so tired right now but I feel accomplished for keeping myself busy. Just one more day to go and I will get my much needed rest and sleep longer as I want. I’m sure the Husband feels the same. I would love to do something creative this weekend. I haven’t touched my crafting tools in weeks now. In the mean time, I will be taking a nice warm bath and get some Zzz’s soon.
