No TLC From FTC

FTC

I first read about the news in an article twitted by NPR.  I immediately visited the link because it affects probloggers like me.  So FTC has this new ruling to disclose any paid endorsements but this is not limited to blogs but also twitter and facebook. And so, my initial reaction was damn, this will really hurt bloggers like me.  But then I realized, wait a minute I do have disclosure policies on my blogs.  I read the news release at FTC and I could not find any specific rules laid down and it states that decisions will be made in a “case-by-case basis.” Right now I do not have any issue with this ruling but I’m kinda confused on how this disclosure should be made.  Is a homepage with a link to the disclosure policy enough?  Do I have to disclose on every paid post?  In what manner does the disclosure should appear?  So many questions that need answers but for now, I will play it by ear.  Oh and by the way, I want to disclose that I’m not in anyway getting paid or accepting freebies from NPR or FTC. ;)
