Last DIY Project Of 2009

Just a couple more hours till New Year but I still thought of a quick project to make.  It only took about 30 mins to get this done.  I should have probably made this when the year was easier to ‘make’, you know the 2001-2009.  If you want to do some DIY to make your new year festive, go ahead and make one for yourself.  Here’s the step-by-step procedure.  Enjoy!

Materials:

old glasses (I used the 3D glasses I got when I watched Avatar)
felt
heavy weight paper like cardstock or cardboard
glue gun and glue stick
pencil
scissors for cutting

Christmas Projects

Despite the lack of posts on my Christmas projects. I was actually busy making them and glad that I was able to finish all of it right on time. I had so many projects in mind so I had to be realistic and choose things that I can really do. I can get distracted easily especially when I see nice projects online (talk about adhd symptoms).  Other than the wreath, here are the stuff that kept me busy days before Christmas.

Christmas ornaments (of course!)

Ready For 2010

Last year, I was feeling down for not being able to get the organizer that I want.  The one I want was cheap but too expensive to haul it here from the Philippines.  I looked over online for an alternative and glad I did.  I found cute ones over at etsy. It was a hard to decide which one to choose.  I settled for this one and you can tell that I don’t want a serious (aka grownup) organizer. LOL

It came with stickers and number stamps.  How cute is that!

I think I shopped to much for myself. I’m still rattling my brains as to what to give my man. I probably will get him Ferrari parts if we own one. Haha. Anyway, he said that it is also hard for him to find me a gift. I have to think of something and I only have less than a week. Decisions, decisions!

Hiding from the World

It has been raining on and off here in my side of the world. Stormy weather is not my thing so it gets me depressed when it starts raining. We have been cooped inside the house for most of the week. The husband has been sick for a couple of days now and I have been feeling not too well either. Before the week ends, we had to do little by little chores because our house is a disaster as it is. One thing that makes the Husband happy about being sick is the quick weight loss it brings. Oh how I wish its the same for me. As for my Christmas decoration plan, I still have nada. Facebook keeps distracting me. Hehe. I definitely will have to work on it ASAP as Christmas is coming real fast. I hope your holiday plans are doing better than mine.

Scrooge Lives Here

We are already entering the 2nd week of December but there is still no sign of Christmas in this house. That’s what happen when I procrastinate too much now I’m so far behind. Last night, I couldn’t take it anymore and has to do something quick to make our place Christmas-y, after all its my favorite holiday. I end up making a wreath using cardboard from a computer box and some patterned papers from my scrapbooking stash.

I still have some felt available at home that can be turn into wonderful decorations. I can’t find any good excuse since I stay at home most of the time. Busy? Hell no! It’s not like I’m a pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney. Just lazy, I suppose. I already made some Christmas cards so that’s good. Talking about decorations, I’ll go ahead and start on some more projects. Ta ta!

Let It Snow

This year’s fall/winter is a whole lot cooler than last year’s. As an island girl, I can bear the heat more than the cold. I still use blankets in summer, believe it or not. But yesterday, when I saw the radar map that snow is coming our way, I was ecstatic. Snow in the Sunshine State is quite unusual. I was so excited, snow virgin here ahem…I went outside and did not see any snow. However, everything is so white. It was the first frost of the season.

I went outside and walked around the house for a bit. I was waiting for snow that will not come. I watched our outdoor cats running around perhaps to keep themselves warm.

Finally, when I can no longer take the coldness, I went inside with a red runny nose. For a person who wants to see snow, it is ironic that I quickly snuggled right next to the heater and wanting to replace the bedroom light fixture with a heat lamp. Maybe the snow is not for me but still I want to see and experience it at least for a day. After that, I can go back to my not-so-cold-sunshiny weather with smile.
