Health is Wealth
The title sounds cliche but I appreciate good health more than ever. I have been sick for a week now and it has been the longest time I have ever been sick. I was hoping that today will be a better day but I woke up with an excruciating pain on my back. It was painful to walk, sit and stand. With the husband to the rescue, he started rubbing my back but it was just too painful for me to handle. I’m back to where I started last week, to the good ole recliner and hot compress. Once this persistent back pain goes away, I will be 100% better.
Anyway, the first order of business as soon as I’m well enough to do things is to cook a decent meal. We have been living `off of grinders and white bread. I will make a big pot of sinigang for myself. As for the husband, he’s been waiting on the sauteed liver for awhile now.;)
Unplugged
If there’s one thing that I have accomplished in this recent sickness, it would have been being offline for hours. Internet has become my biggest distraction for two years now. I have somehow spent most of the time online than the real world.
But ever since I got sick, I spent less time on my good ole laptop. While I suffer from back pain and constant coughing, getting online became the least of my priorities. I didn’t miss browsing my favorites sites or even playing my online games. I was happy reading a book as I lay. Though I cannot completely remove the computer and the internet in my life, I decided to use my time wisely instead of wasting away precious time on endless browsing. I will make use of it when I need to research something important like an iphone warranty for example. Now, there’s one other thing that I wish I was able to accomplished with this sickness, and that is to lose weight. I’ll find out this weekend on our weekly weigh in. *fingers crossed*
Sick Leave
I haven’t blogged in awhile because I have been sick and still am. This is a first time since getting sick, I was able to use the computer. Actually, I haven’t touched any electronics in the house for days. This is also the first time that me and the husband are sick at the same time. In the past, we probably had the usual sniffles together but not like this one that lasted for days. At night, it was hard for me to sleep all night through. My back was killing me. I feel like an 80 year old grandma.
Today, I feel so much better after the hot compress. Thanks to the husband who immediately thought about that. I was able to take a nap comfortably because of it. I’m now in the road to recovery. I’m taking it easy and won’t be doing much this week so I can recuperate. I want to be back to my old self soon and we have a lot of work to do in this house!
The Latest
I can honestly say that the past weekend is way better than my previous ones. It was well spent. I was able to spend quality time with the husband, got that much needed rest and I was able to go to church on Sunday. It wasn’t entirely an activity-filled weekend but just the fact that it was a relaxing weekend is more than enough for me. No stress for a change. I like that (I mean who doesn’t).
I know I have complained about the cold weather last winter but I don’t like this summer heat. It is just all too humid and our A/C is often in the loosing end. Whoever said that global warming doesn’t exist have some explaining to do.

This is the view from my window. Nice and sunny but
I would not dare go out else I would suffer heat stroke!
These past few days, I have noticed that I’m not productive during the day as I’m often glued right in front of our A/C. Today, I took advantage about that fact and decided to work on some unfinished project. At night when it’s cooler, that’s when I do all my other chores. I’m praying for rain minus the flooding, tornado and lightning on the ground. Yeah, that specific.
Friday Fill In
Here’s my entry on this week’s Friday Fill In. Have a good weekend!

- A long relaxing vacation feels great.
- The solution is hard to figure out sometimes.
- I wish I can always easily fall asleep.
- How about a stress free life for at least a decade.
- Using the internet to look for hard-to-find recipes is something I highly recommend!
- Imagine each day as your last.
- And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to finishing up laundry (I’m already 75% done), tomorrow my plans include going to the library and Sunday, I want to wake up early and go to church!
