Let Me Educate You

School is about to start again. For students, it is back to hitting the books and working on loads of assignments and projects. For us, it means lots of traffic in the area. Hehe. Since we don’t have kids yet, I’m enjoying this free time in my hands. I know, by the time they come, I will be one of those mommies who wake up early in the morning prepping the kids for school and checking their assignments when they get home. I do want my future kids to be able to attend college. I wouldn’t mind enrolling them to extra classes like sat prep courses for them to make it to good universities. My parents made sure that all of us (their children) got into college and I want the same for my kids too.

No K

I’m no Popeye but I sure love my green and leafy vegetables. I’m a big veggie eater so when the nurse told me about my new diet I got sad. All my lovely greens are either taken out or limited to 1/4-1/2 a cup. There are so many food in my do-not-eat list and most of them are in my usual diet. Vitamin K is my enemy for now. I don’t know till when but I will find out once I talk to my hematologist again. I was relieved to know that rice is not on the list. You can’t take away rice from an Asian girl! ;)   If I lose more weight, I might be one of those people who share their weight loss success stories. Though, mine would be a result of a necessity.

Publix Option

publix

We now have a new favorite store to shop for food. During the time that I was sick, the husband has been living off of Publix subs and their teas. He actually lost a lot of weight. He now looks like he’s been taking apidexin for years. But then again, he was also stressed and tired during those times. As for me, I want to take a break from eating subs, not that I ate subs often. I just don’t eat a lot of bread.

I saw that one of the Publix stores here have sushi. Yay! They are freshly made by an angry looking Asian with a bluetooth. Haha. It’s just that when I passed by the sushi aisle, he’s there looking angry but I may be wrong.:-P Anyway, other than the subs, tea and sushi, we also like the kosher half-sour pickles they sell. I don’t like sweet pickles so this one suites my taste. The milk that we bought there has a label that says it’s hormone free. That sounds good to me. The less chemicals, the better. Oh and by the way, I am not paid in anyway by Publix but I wish they would. I accept sushi as payment. *wink wink*

Building My Strength

I feel better each day. I was worried before that it will take me months or even a year to recover but I’m regaining my strength. I was more than happy to do household chores like cooking, laundry and washing the dishes. This only means that I’m getting close to having a normal life again. Once we move back to our home, I will include daily walks in my schedule. I can probably just do one round in the neighborhood, in slow pace of course. I will probably able to do some lower ab workout next month. I still have a bit of back pain though from time to time as well as sudden gasps of air but in general I feel so much better.
