Odd Jobs

All my previous jobs had me stuck in a cubicle with a phone and a computer. They were the typical office setup – the kind that I enjoy. However, they would appear boring and un-cool compared to those people with not-so-ordinary jobs. Sometimes they sound too good to be true but these jobs really exist.
Video Game Tester
I found a job opening for this position two years ago. Basically, you have to play a video game and look for bugs within that game for the programmers to fix. It sounds easy but I’m not really a gamer so I wasn’t interested about it.
Food Taster
I will be thrilled if I know someone who does this for a living. Talk about bringing home the bacon literally!
Greeting Card Artist
I remember one of my grandma’s tenants was a greeting card artist. Every time she gives out a card, it would be the one she specifically made (hand drawn). I think she worked at a big name greeting card company then.
Dog walker
This job doesn’t sound too odd but you will be answering nature calls than business calls! I would love to have this job except that picking the poop part.
Voice Over Dubber
Hey, not everyone speaks the same language. Remember, the Tower of Babel? I thank these folks for translating my favorite Korean dramas. Hehe.
Friday Fill-In

- You do your thing; I do mine and sometimes we do things together.
- Food is what’s been on my mind on and off all day. Bye, bye diet.
- Remember when there were jobs left and right waiting to be filled.
- Blogging, cooking and crafting are three of my favorite obsessions
- During the last year, I just go along with the flow of life but this time, I’m taking charge of it.
- Knowing that our cat considers me as his favorite person, puts a smile on my face.
- And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a promised head-to-toe massage from my personal masseur – the husband, tomorrow my plans include doing something fun either movie date or bowling and Sunday, I want to go to church, work on some projects and search for On Line Schools that offer medical short courses.
Life Is A Beach
When we got married two years ago, we did not have any proper honeymoon. Let’s just say that life got in the way and we did not have any opportunity to take some time off. After getting sick (and almost dying), I feel like we need to do something fun for a change especially now that life is increasingly stressful again. We do need to take a breather and forget the hustle and bustle of city living for at least a week. A trip to a good beach is just what we need right now. The beach has always been my favorite vacation destination. Growing up in a country surrounded by bodies of water may have something to do with that.
I would love to visit the Outer Banks in North Carolina. There are several Outer Banks vacation rentals but this particular beach house called Soundside in Seahawk looks so appealing to me. Its location gives a good view of the ocean. Also, the interior look cozy which gives it a homey feeling. There are also several amenities that will definitely keep us busy at night or in case of bad weather like a private pool, hot tub and game room to name a few. Carolina Designs handles this rental home. Here are some pictures of this rental home:

Something Old
I had a great time thrifting with Mom last Saturday. I bought two office shirts and several fabrics. I was way too busy and happy going over the racks of clothes that I didn’t even noticed the time. We spent about 4-5 hours in the thrift shops all over town. Somehow, I forgot to get myself a pair running shorts. If you must know, I’m embarking yet again on another weight-loss journey. My discipline will be really tested during the holidays.
Back On The Road
I had a short-lived driving experience due to some problems with the license. I just got it straightened out finally after a trip to the big city. All is well now and my eyes were twinkling when I read the “safe driver” note at the bottom. Hehe. Now, the next ordeal is with driving itself. It has been months since I drove and I’m still a newbie. Everything is a little bit more complicated because we are now living in a bigger city. I’m still lacking in the confidence department but practice makes perfect as they say. Sooner or later, I want to be able to drive myself to different places. Sometimes I think about getting a motorcycle endorsement but I’m not planning on riding one on the road. I only want it because I like ATVs but I’m not sure if they are considered as “motorcycles”. I just thought it would be fun to do a mini atv racing with the husband here in our big front lawn.
