Opa!

We went to the Greek festival today out of curiosity (and hunger, hehe). We were not disappointed. We had authentic greek food and it tasted so good. I had the gyro sandwich while the husband had the loukaniko sandwich. I thought the highlight of both sandwich will be the meat but it was the pita bread. It was good. We actually got excited when we saw stacks of these toasted pita bread in the counter. we also shared a serving of calamari. After eating, we headed out but took home some dessert which I’m about to sample right now. [I don't have any pictures of me and the husband enjoying the festivities because we were not in our best. It was hot and we were sweating like pigs and for me, it is also close to that time of the month if you know what I mean and I don't have the best acne treatment yet.] The place was crowded too because nobody wants to miss out on the good authentic greek food.

A Not So Extraordinary Tale

Yesterday, I went to the library and browse over some books. I actually don’t own a library card where I live right now. I have been using the husband’s for quite some time now. Well, it has been ages since I’ve borrowed a book here in our area. I cannot bring myself to apply for a card of my own without renting out some books. You see I have a self-imposed banned on reading other books until I finished reading this book that I haven’t finished for more than 6 months now. Embarassing, I know. I’m thinking of finishing it up for one entire day and night if I can just to work pass it. I know I would need acne products but it is all going to be worth it. I just want to read this particular book that I learned from NPR.

Stay-cation

I haven’t been blogging much lately because I have been sleeping a lot. You bet, there are no signs of dark circles in my eyes. I have been enjoying the husband’s extra time off from work. The guy has been really tired and stress a lot lately and it has been months since his last vacation. This would be a good way for him to recharge and rejuvenate. I of course has been enjoying it immensely because we get to spend more time together. Also, I have a regular schedule now which means waking up every morning and sleeping at night. We are night owls but I love this kind of schedule because the weather is starting to heat up and it is getting harder to sleep at night. Tomorrow, we are planning to take a long walk at a nature park in the morning and then attend a Greek festival in the afternoon. Fun, fun fun!

Tired Of Being Tired

Ever since our date, we both have been tired lately. We both know the reason behind this is lack of any form of physical activity or exercise. Much to my dismay, we have been gaining weight again too. :( We do have grand plans of biking through the trails, jumping a hundred times with our jump ropes and doing hundreds of crunches. Summer is still far away in this side of the world, thank goodness! Joining the gym is out of the question right now because we are saving as much as we can for far MORE important things. I wish there’s a local gym that offer reward cards and then every point we earn can be used for groceries. Wouldn’t that be nice?

I do miss the enormous amount of energy that I used to have. Now a days, I’m always cooped up inside the house and glued to my laptop. Change is badly needed.

Valentine’s Date

How was your Valentine’s Day?  The husband had to work yesterday so we didn’t do anything except exchange heartfelt card and letter.  However, we did go out Sunday which was the 13th.  We went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa (MOSI).

The first thing we did is watch a movie at the IMax Dome Screen.  After that, we went through all the exhibits. Then when we ran out of things to do/see, we checked out the butterfly sanctuary.  The last thing we saw was the Planetarium.  At 5PM, we were already exhausted that we skipped dining out.  We just grabbed a Papa John’s pizza on our way home and ate it in the comforts of our humble abode.  That’s basically how our “date” went.  I’ll post more about our mini adventure in MOSI soon.
