A Woman’s Hair Is Her Crowning Glory

That is true for me. I feel beautiful with a full head of hair so when I started losing some, I was frantic with worry. For one, I have an oddly shaped head and hair covers this weird head of mine. When I was young, I had thick straight hair. Now, my hair is thin and wavy. What’s up with that? I had to blame genetics for the thinning of my hair. I seemed to have gotten it from my mother. It didn’t help that I took a medication that has a minor side effect of hair loss. Unfortunately, I was in the 0.08% of people affected. Luck of the draw, yet again. :( I’m not losing that much anymore after I was done with that particular medicine but my hair is still thin. My current hair loss treatment is taking vitamins – fish oil and biotin. My next step? Look for hair extensions.

Happy List

This is so late because I’m swamped with too many things lately. It was not an easy feat to juggle chores, deal with stressful situations and at the same time research on things like business printing. I’m barely breathing but still have a lot be happy about.

  • I learned how to make homemade pickles and also how to can them.
  • We were able to try out a new church.
  • I had my tooth fixed.
  • I had a long chat with my mom on her birthday.

Current Shows: Camelot and Game of Thrones

Most of the television shows that I have been watching are airing their season finale this week. Like the rest of us, I will have to wait for Fall for their new season. Some of my other shows are coming back though, thank goodness! I also started watching two new series with the husband: Camelot and Games of Thrones. Both have the medieval setting. Camelot is becoming a bore despite the movie stars casting. Game of Thrones on the other hand is promising. I like the complexity of the story and the characters. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings. Good job, HBO!

game of thrones

Despite the lack of digital antenna and a flat screen tv, I’m still able to watch shows that I like because of my trusty computer. Those things will come once we are at a better place and not to mention bigger space but for now I’m contented with my portable screen. :)

Current Read: Something Borrowed

It took me ages to finish “Watership Down”. I find it boring in the beginning until I got to the latter part of the story. It became exciting since then, and finally, I’m done with the book. This gave me an excuse to msomething borrowedake a celebratory purchase for reading this novel. And guess what, I bought a new book to read. I opted for a summer read, something light and easy this time.  I got “Something Borrowed” by Emily Giffin. It has a movie version with the same title that is out right now. I enjoyed reading the book and I felt giddy several times reading about Rachel and Dex’s love affair. I really enjoyed my ME gift. I’m still thinking if I will buy the next book or if I will just rent it from the library. Since something blue would focus on Darcy, I wonder if there will be a continuation of Rachel’s story like her fulfilling her dream as a respected lawyer something like a Houston Truck Accident Attorney or is she going to take a different path. Also, what’s next for her and Dex. I think I’ll check reviews before I decide to buy it or not.

Happy List

It was a tough week last week with troublesome news, death in the family and now, my aching tooth. I wish we have a dental version of medicare supplement plans that can cover expensive dental care. Despite all of these bumps on the road, here are some things that made me smile this past week:

  • My garden is thriving and it won’t be long till harvest time comes.
  • I finished reading two books in a week.
  • I can already scratched off the annual OBGYN checkup on my list. What a relief!
  • The husband and I were able to go out. We haven’t done that in a while so it was a nice break from constant sitting inside the house. We didn’t break the bank either.
  • I had tea time with our Aunt during a thunderstorm.
  • I really enjoy the presence of wild life in my backyard. There are new bluebird eggs soon to hatch, fox pups, rabbits and turtle. I’m glad there are no snakes though.

By the way, I’m now calling it Happy List instead of Happy Thoughts.  It sounds more appropriate, I think.
