Saving Up for Better Things
I have officially started my self-imposed shopping ban. I won’t be shopping for anything (which means anything other than the basic necessities) in store or online from now till at least mid-November. I’m saving up for better (not necessarily bigger) things for the upcoming Black Friday sale. I don’t know what I will be getting yet but maybe it will be another electronic device. It will all depend on what will be on sale that day. Most likely, I will get an external hard drive because I need an extra room for my files and I want to free up some space from the laptop too. My old EHD is already full to the brim. I would love to have a better camera too but that’s a want and not a NEED. As far as which store to go to, I will have to compare rates online first to find out which one offers the best deal. Are you saving up for Black Friday too?
Random Silliness
Every time we pass by this building, I can’t help but comment how sad those felines look. So finally one day, we just parked near the place and took some pictures.
Here’s my attempt in looking as sad as them.
A close up of the sad looking animals.
While we were at the park (located near that building), I noticed how tall the pine trees were. You know what that means – another photo opportunity! Ignore the funny face.
When we got home, I asked the boy to do his version of a sad looking cat. And here’s how he did it. Yes, he likes laying right next to my balikbayan box.
Alright, enough of this silliness and back to reality. I’m on full force job hunting mode. A work-at-home job at a document management solutions company will be a good place to start with. Hopefully, I can find a decent job soon where I can get good benefits and still be able to use my brain.
Wake Me Up When September Ends
Most of my Facebook friends have been posting about the coming Christmas season. I on the other hand, am not yet on that level of thinking. There’s still Halloween and Thanksgiving to look forward to. I’m looking forward to Fall festivals and that includes Oktoberfest. Hehe.
While I find putting Christmas decor and playing Christmas songs too early, saving up for Christmas shopping is not. As early as now, it is wise to start looking at Black Friday deals and gamestop coupons. I know the feeling of regret of not buying early something that went out out-of-stock on December.
Temperatures are dropping down at night so our air-conditioning system has time to rest. I can still feel the summer heat in the middle of the day but I’m starting to prepare for the coming cold weather. Let me end this post by introducing my new pink fuzzy slipper that will keep me warm this winter!
Sewing at 31
I should have started sewing early. That’s what I was thinking today while I was struggling to adjust the pattern for my growing body. It would have save me the agony of saving up for trendy clothes or at least begging the parents to buy me a cooler wardrobe. It would have been easier for me to sew clothes then because well, I used to have a smaller frame. Now, here I am working on a dress to fit my so-called curves.
I would also have a creative outlet and who knows I might even be able to use it to make gifts. I used to like a particular store that advertised “personalize your coffee mug”. My cousin got me a mug from that place and it was one of my favorite gifts.
Of course, I can’t turn back the hands of time but I what I can DO is to work on perfecting this craft. And of course getting back in a healthy shape, just like my friend G said.
What to Do on a Rainy Day
Go to your favorite fast food chain and eat an enormous burger. If you have any gift card laying around, hand it to the crew for preparing the food fresh of the grill.
Then, head out to the beach and scare yourself with the sound of the howling wind. Hide in the car if you get too terrified.
If you are lucky, you might find a raccoon checking trash cans like a boss.
Go home and blog about your experience. At least that’s what I did.
