Out of the Box

Tonight is the most awaited boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Oscar Dela Hoya.  A lot of boxing aficionados will be watching this match.  My dad will most likely be glued to the TV for this match.  I’m not a big boxing fan but I do like the Golden Boy but as a filipino, I’m rooting for Pacman.  I hope he wins this fight although I’m quite surprised he agreed to this considering the big difference in height and weight.  Oh well, I just hope Manny will bag this one too.

Halloween Pinoy Style

Halloween is celebrated in western countries by dressing up in costumes, halloween parties and trick or treating for the kids.  We also have those things in the Philippines but it is customary of a pinoy (filipino) to visit the dead during Halloween.  Some cultures may not understand that but it is a way for us to remember the dead.  In my family, for example, it is a MUST to go to the cemetery every halloween.  Non attendance is like committing a mortal sin.  So what exactly do we do in the cemetery?  Read more
