Dream Vacation

I’m quite spoiled these past few weeks because I get to spend a lot of time with the Husband.  He is on break for the holidays so we get to do things together like cooking and playing tennis.  However, his vacation is almost over.  I wish I can whisk him away to a trip in Orlando for this last few days.  We can stay at one of the Westgate resorts and then visit nearby theme parks like disney or universal.  It’s just amazing where my imagination can take me sometimes. Hehe.

Looking Forward

This 2009, I’m praying that it will be a good year for us.  Although, 2008 is not that bad as compared to my 2007.  I have so many goals that I want to accomplish this year.  One of our long term goals is to have our own house.  Although our rent fee is cheap, I think that we are still wasting money each month that we could have used to purchase a house.  Right now, we just don’t have the budget yet for a down payment but it doesn’t hurt to research for possible homes.  So far, I have seen so many properties for sale because of the recent real estate meltdown.  I’m still on the Wilmington NC real estate and I have a long way to go.  I hope I can find one that will be perfect for us like a starter home.  By hard work, patience and grace of God, I’m sure it will be fulfilled.

By the way as promised, my blog has a new theme.  It looks more girlish than my previous one but I like it because its more personalized and organized.  I hope my visitors and sometime lurkers will like it as much as I do.

A Christmas Story

My christmas was quite simple yet well spent with my favorite person in the world - the Husband.  The night before Christmas I just chatted with my family online.  We did not have the typical noche buena.  I cooked bourbon street chicken for us for dinner.  We then open one of the gifts at 12 MN.  Then, on Christmas Day we went out and watch a movie and ate at a nearby buffet restaurant.  When we came home, we opened the rest of the gifts.  Here’s a picture of our first christmas together with our ‘cute’ tree:

Christmas Eve

I’m quite spoiled these days because he is on christmas break.  Come January, I will have less time spent with the Husband.  Oh well, part of life as they say.  He is working and studying hard so we can have better lives.  Aside from paying bills, we need to get health and auto insurance next year.

Money Matters

It is quite important to manage one’s finances wisely especially with this failing economy.  Currently, we only have one paycheck (the Husband’s) in our household.  Just like other small entrepreneurs, our business is slowly disintegrating.  Since we don’t have a steady income, we always find it hard to budget.  We tend to either get late bill payments or overspend.

We definitely need a budget software to help properly assess our finances.  I actually found one and it is called YNAB (YOU NEED A BUDGET) Pro Software.  The software is very user friendly and the whole concept is easy to understand. This just might be the solution to our problems concerning personal budget.

A Little Side Post

I’m sneaking in a lil bit of blog post here since I don’t blog that much anymore this days.  I have been very busy cleaning the entire house.  I have allotted a day on each room.  Yes, a whole day to clean it like the pros (aka obsessive-compulsives).  I’m glad The Husband like how much I have cleaned the two rooms so far.  He was surprised how meticulous I have been.  LOL.  And no, he ain’t forcing me to clean but between the two of us I’m the messy person so I’m doing my part.  Once this is all done, we will just have to maintain it and I can do some decorating and digiscrapping again.

Ham-mer Time!

The husband is really challenging my cooking skills.  Hehe.  Today, I’m cooking ham.  It was just a spur of the moment when we bought that ham.  I told him that we should not buy turkey again so we will miss the taste of it.  My mother-in-law will be preparing that on thanksgiving anyway.  So far, the ham is looking and tasting good.  We are just waiting for one more hour till our next great meal. Yay!

Personal Masseuse

My back just always hurts because of improper posture.  The Husband often plays my personal masseuse.  I’m sure its hard for him since he is tired for the day’s work and he has muscle pains on his own too.  I easily get tired in giving him massages with my small hands.  I do wish we each have our own massage chairs from Takemi Select . Then, we can both rest and relax.
