Closing Time

I just heard from a friend and a former co-worker that the company that I used to work for will be closing down this December.  If that happened in the USA, it is no longer a surprise because of the recession.  The employees were told it is because of the failing economy which of course I highly doubt.  Since it is an outsourcing company, they are getting good business.  Frankly, I think its just about time.  That company has seen better days.  I have been through all the mess that happened there and management just keeps on changing.  I have foreseen it happening and I’m quite surprised it even lasted for more years.  I’m just sad for the employees who will be losing their jobs in this holiday season.  If only they have considered getting experts like Dennis C Carey to hire their head honchos then maybe it could have stayed longer but it is too late now.

Window Shopping

I have no problems as far as controlling myself from shopping.  The Husband will agree on this.  I’m quite disciplined in spending especially when I don’t have much money these days.  Quite surprising when I have been addicted to shopping once upon a time in my life.  Back then, it seems like there’s no tomorrow like there’s a need to talk to a Jagad Guru for advices.  During christmas season, I always find myself overshopping that I don’t remember where all my money go. Although, I can say that it was a waste of good money, it sure was the good times. I don’t worry about tomorrow.  I guess it is also good to experience that once in your life.

This year, I become wiser.  There are still moments though that it is hard to hold on to the cash especially when I see good deals and big sales.  For now, I’ll just indulge myself with window shopping and more of penny pinching.

The Great Comeback

Something is making a comeback this year and I’m not talking about Britney Spears although she has been spotted donning this outfit for her performances.  I’m talking about the “tanga” (pronounced as tang-gah).  Performers like Madonna, Britney and Rihanna were all wearing this sorta swimwear piece of cloth but the best one is Beyonce’s in the Single Ladies video.  Flashback of Vilma and Alma?  LOL.

Jogging Menace

The other day, the Husband and I decided to go for a walk in the nearby lake.  This lake actually has a pathway which is level enough for a person to jog.  I insisted that I will jog that day instead of doing brisk walking.  Based on experience, jogging is the most effective way for me to lose weight.  I used to jog in ULTRA Pasig (before the stampede).  I can go around it 10 times in an hour but that was long ago.  I decided to try that again this time at the lake but I just finished 3/4 of a mile and I was already exhausted.  My heart was pounding and I started feeling sick so I stop and sat on a nearby bench.  This is just a sign that I’m so out of shape.  I will have to work my way up again and maybe I can do high impact exercise like using an elliptical.

Update

I stayed up really late last night and was only able to sleep 4 hours today.  I’m not at all tired or sleepy but my stomach is bubbling.  I even listened to it using a stethoscope and it is indeed burning up.  My tummy is just so sensitive yet I’m not a picky eater so I always end up with stomach pains.  I give Maalox good business.

Money Matters

It is quite important to manage one’s finances wisely especially with this failing economy.  Currently, we only have one paycheck (the Husband’s) in our household.  Just like other small entrepreneurs, our business is slowly disintegrating.  Since we don’t have a steady income, we always find it hard to budget.  We tend to either get late bill payments or overspend.

We definitely need a budget software to help properly assess our finances.  I actually found one and it is called YNAB (YOU NEED A BUDGET) Pro Software.  The software is very user friendly and the whole concept is easy to understand. This just might be the solution to our problems concerning personal budget.

Night Owl

It is actually 3AM already but I’m still up.  My stomach just keeps on burning for a couple of nights now.  I already took two different kinds of medicines but none of them is working.  I just had to get up so I won’t wake up the Husband with my constant toss and turns.  I’m hoping that my body will soon get too tired to even feel this pain. :(
