I Want It So Bad
Those were the words I said after the husband asked, “How bad do you want to lose weight?” He even gave me an option to get B-12 shots to help me because apparently his co workers lost a good amount of weight that way. I have researched about it and I will admit that there’s this tiny part of my brain that wants it. However, I decided that before I do anything else, I will have to do it the old fashion way first. If that doesn’t work then I’ll take other routes. Now, the old fashion way of course is diet combined with exercise. To simplify it further, just eat less but move more. I fail miserably on both parts which made me gain this weight.
This week, I will try to lose 5 pounds. I use “try” because this is a test run. I have eliminated carbohydrates and essentially sugar except that teaspoon of sugar for my coffee. I hope I can make it in a week without going crazy. Haha. I am such a rice monster and that’s the hardest for me to let go. I get cranky without my bowl of rice.
As for the exercise part, I will walk first as my first workout then build from that. I want to be able to jog again without feeling sick. Also eventually, I want to workout in a good gym like the ones that offer personal training richmond va. For now, I have to take it one step at a time (no pun intended). When I accomplish regularly walking, then I’ll step up my game.
Really into Biking
Guest written by our friend Jan Petersen
Being really into biking has been good for me in so many ways. I love being out there in the fresh air feeling the wind on my face but other than that I’ve met a lot of great people who also share my passion. I recently went to CannonSatellite.com at the suggestion of a friend to get all kinds of new sports channels so I can watch the famous bike races from my living room which is nice…I don’t always have time to get out there and be on the road for hours a night. I love being active and moving my body around and I know my husband feels the same way. He often runs while I bike beside him at a slower pace and it’s great for us to spend so much time together that way – I love bonding over exercise. They say it’s good for your love life too, if you get my drift, and I’ve found lots of evidence to support that claim if you know what I mean!
Just Like Riding A Bicycle
After months of talking about them, the husband and I finally got our bikes. The other day, we biked through the trails from one town to another with a total of 10 miles. I was first nervous about riding the bike since it has been ages since I rode one My mom banned me from biking when I was around 9 because of fear of losing my virginity. LOL. Weird but true. Asian moms are the just like that. Hehe. Anyway, so once we got to the parking lot, I tested out my bike and sorta practice on biking. I re-learned it within a minute. The trail was a nice straight paved road. There were trees on both sides of the trails which minimizes sun exposure. I still used sunscreen though! It was a breezy ride through the trails and met other bikers and joggers along the way. Someone complimented my bike and I smiled from ear to ear, beaming like I own a Rolls Royce! I enjoyed biking immensely but the ride back was terrible. My legs and butt were sore. I kept stopping with each mile. At one point, the husband had to pull me so I don’t have to pedal. Hard to imagine but he did. I was so happy to see the exit of the trail. I barely made it back to the parking lot where we left our car.
Right now, I’m laying in bed with my legs stretched out and enjoying some kitty love from Toby. I just took two ibuprofen and had hot compress on the sore areas. I think it will be awhile till I will bike again. My muscles need to recover. Hopefully, it will be bearable the next time I do a 10 mile bike ride.
New Reason To Wake Up
I’m having trouble getting up early in the morning and Sunday is not an exception. Now that the weather has gotten colder yet again, I just don’t want to leave our warm comfy mattress. However, tomorrow will be an exciting day. The husband has gotten us new things to use tomorrow morning after church. I’m excited! I will need to get used to it again because the last time I used one of these was when I was 9, I think. Just a little hint, this thing can be used for exercise and for extra protection, one can wear a helmet. Can you guess what is it?
Tired Of Being Tired
Ever since our date, we both have been tired lately. We both know the reason behind this is lack of any form of physical activity or exercise. Much to my dismay, we have been gaining weight again too.
We do have grand plans of biking through the trails, jumping a hundred times with our jump ropes and doing hundreds of crunches. Summer is still far away in this side of the world, thank goodness! Joining the gym is out of the question right now because we are saving as much as we can for far MORE important things. I wish there’s a local gym that offer reward cards and then every point we earn can be used for groceries. Wouldn’t that be nice?
I do miss the enormous amount of energy that I used to have. Now a days, I’m always cooped up inside the house and glued to my laptop. Change is badly needed.
