Winter White Dream
Guess where I went based on this pictures…

South Carolina? Connecticut? No, I’m still in the good ole Florida! Yes, all 50 states now have snow. Being from a tropical country, I always wanted to see snow and have planned trips going up north. Today, I have just scratched that off of my to-do list. When the husband saw the radar map that there will be snow in nearby Alabama, we decided to drive there to check it out. Before even reaching the state line, we are already seeing snow. I was ecstatic of course, like I just discovered a pot of gold coins.;) It was freaking cold but who cares. I was in my snow dreamland. I’m sure this is not a big deal for people who are getting hammered by snowstorm right now. To me, it was an amazing experience. I often asked God to send me snow and when rain comes, I thought God did sent me snow but it melted on its way. Now, He did sent me some and they were big fluffy ones!

moi – freezing yet happy!
Let It Snow
This year’s fall/winter is a whole lot cooler than last year’s. As an island girl, I can bear the heat more than the cold. I still use blankets in summer, believe it or not. But yesterday, when I saw the radar map that snow is coming our way, I was ecstatic. Snow in the Sunshine State is quite unusual. I was so excited, snow virgin here ahem…I went outside and did not see any snow. However, everything is so white. It was the first frost of the season.
first frost of the season
I went outside and walked around the house for a bit. I was waiting for snow that will not come. I watched our outdoor cats running around perhaps to keep themselves warm.
Finally, when I can no longer take the coldness, I went inside with a red runny nose. For a person who wants to see snow, it is ironic that I quickly snuggled right next to the heater and wanting to replace the bedroom light fixture with a heat lamp. Maybe the snow is not for me but still I want to see and experience it at least for a day. After that, I can go back to my not-so-cold-sunshiny weather with smile.
Rainy Friday
It is already raining as of the moment. The cat is hiding under the bed as always. It is dark outside and I miss my lovely sun.
It seems so gloomy every time it rains and your alone inside the house. Judging by the look of the radar (below), it is raining all over Florida.

Hopefully, it will be sunny this weekend. Rain is fine but I don’t like thunderstorms nor do I like hail. When there’s lightning, I’m limited in doing things. I need to unplug all electrical devices and can’t use anything that is connected with pipes. If in case you’re wondering, lightning reaches the ground here so we have to be very careful with our appliances and also water to avoid getting electricuted. Rain or shine, I’m happy because the husband have weekends off. I hope you enjoy your weekend too. Happy weekend, folks!
Another Good Reason To Live in Florida
Like many immigrating Filipinos, weather is something that needs to get adjusted to. One of the things that I love about Florida is the weather. The heat is quite similar to the Philippine weather. But there is something more to like about Florida. Governor Charlie Crist just recently signed the Alonzo Mourning Access to Care Act. This bill will help a lot of disabled and kidney failure patients access to care that they need. This means patients with kidney diseases under age 65 will also have access to Medicare supplement policies just like the older patients. In addition, eligible medicare patients with disability under 65 can now also purchase medigap policies. I hope the state will keep on approving bills that will provide quality health care for those in need.
I leaped on leap year

I was soo sleepy from lack of sleep the other day. I went straight to bed as soon as I got home from work. I have only been asleep for a couple of hours when my cousin starts knocking at my door. When I open the door he said, “Jan na daw visa mo”. I was surprised. Part of me was excited but another part of me is saying “nah, probably they just returned my passport with a reject stamp on it”. After paying the delivery guy, I hurriedly open the package and took out my passport. Alas! There it is, I got approved. I can’t believe it. After grueling months of waiting and frustration, we finally got what we’re hoping for. I told Stephen and he was ecstatic. We just kept on laughing for a good 2 mins (i think). I need to leave soon and my resignation is just the perfect timing. Indeed, God gives you what you are praying for in the perfect time and place.
