Merry Blogging Day 5: Christmas Deers

christmas deers

I just wanted to share these dead deers I saw today.  The husband and I had dinner at his favorite barbeque restaurant in town.  That’s where I found these deers.  We have eaten there several times already but not during December so this is actually the first time we saw the deers looking Christmas-y.  I guess this month, they have just been transformed into reindeers.  LOL.

I have always liked the western theme of this restaurant.  It’s walls were made of of wood panels in a dark finish and there were also wooden beams in the ceiling.  The wall decors were also made of wood.  As you can imagine, it is very rustic.  It will be quite ironic to see a metal detectors on sale ad right next to it.  However, their cooking tools are modern.  I saw a Kitchenaid mixer in their kitchen.  Modern people need modern tools else it will take a day before they can serve food.

Merry Blogging Day 3: Sit Back and Relax

We were out late last night that today we decided to stay in and just relax.  We rediscovered the joy of traditionally popping popcorn kernels.  Hehe.  Quite simple and safe too.  I actually enjoyed its taste compared to the microwavable ones we always get.  Less sodium, less fat and taste even better! – I sound like a commercial!  LOL.

Out on a Chilly Day

Today, I was able to go out from my little hole and explore the world.  I went out with the husband today and watched “The Thing” which is a prequel of the 80’s movie.  I won’t write down spoilers here but as expected, the movie is filled with startling scenes and a bunch of cgi.  In short, it is your typical Hollywood scary movie.

After the movie, we had Chinese food which was mostly seafood.  I did not enjoy it this time.  We agreed to take a break from Chinese food in at least a month.  While we were in the city, we browsed around two stores.  First, the toy store just because we both wanted to see what are they selling right now.  Then, instead of my usual Target visit, we went to an art supply store for a change.  It felt like I haven’t been in one for ages!  Beads, scrapbooking supplies, fabrics etc. were all over the place.  My eyes were pleased but they were also getting tired.  I went home empty handed.  No biggie because shopping is the farthest thing in my mind right now.  Anyway, it was nice to be out and about once again. No plans for tomorrow but I hope it involves being outside of the house once again.

Opa!

We went to the Greek festival today out of curiosity (and hunger, hehe). We were not disappointed. We had authentic greek food and it tasted so good. I had the gyro sandwich while the husband had the loukaniko sandwich. I thought the highlight of both sandwich will be the meat but it was the pita bread. It was good. We actually got excited when we saw stacks of these toasted pita bread in the counter. we also shared a serving of calamari. After eating, we headed out but took home some dessert which I’m about to sample right now. [I don't have any pictures of me and the husband enjoying the festivities because we were not in our best. It was hot and we were sweating like pigs and for me, it is also close to that time of the month if you know what I mean and I don't have the best acne treatment yet.] The place was crowded too because nobody wants to miss out on the good authentic greek food.

Day 2

We had trouble sleeping the previous night so we got up later than planned. It was cloudy outside and we were running late for a doctor’s appointment. We decided not to go to the spring today so tomorrow is our last chance. After we got back from out appointment, we took a nap again in the afternoon. At 6PM, we went to see an event set up by our old church. It’s called “Experience the Judgment”. I enjoyed the presentation and I’m glad we were able to see it tonight which is actually the opening night. With an empty stomach all throughout the day, I was dying to eat. But first, we had to stop by the pharmacy to get the husband’s prescription. I was staring at
male enhancement ads, when the husband told me to go look at the Halloween section to try out other wigs. I had a blast last time that he encouraged me to check them out again. LOL. After that, we got our Mei Fan from the local Chinese restaurant and headed to our motel. It is now about time to hit the hay so I hope we sleep good tonight so we can go to the spring early in the morning.
