Decorating Ideas
Don’t you sometimes get tired of the look of your room? I like variety so from time to time, I rearrange the furniture just so it will look different. There are times though that I want to make big changes like getting one of those luxurious vessel sinks. I’m currently limited to the changes I can make because one, we are in recession and two, we are only renting. Any renovations will just be a waste since we don’t own this place. In the mean time, I scoured the internet and look for different ways to revamp our home. Here are some decorating tips for a girl on a budget:
- Rugs to riches
Rugs can add pizzaz to a boring white room. It can act as a focal point of the room and it gives the room more personality. - A hole in the wall
If you can’t afford paintings from big name artists why not use wall decals instead. No need to bore holes in the walls. - Be green
Adding a plant adds instant color and it gives a fresh look to the room. - Pillow fight
I have noticed when watching decorating shows, they always add colorful pillows. It ties the whole theme of the room together and it doesn’t cost much. - Old World Charm
Sometimes it pays to check out garage sales and thrift stores. If you look around, you just might find an interesting piece like an armoire with a nice detailed carving.
Home Safety
I think of our home as my safe haven and I’m sure most folks feel the same about their homes. However, studies claims that most accidents happen at home. Considering my luck, I will most likely get hurt. Thankfully, I have encountered only a few minor mishaps for the past year. But that doesn’t stop The husband from teasing, “Don’t hurt yourself doing nothing.”
We do our best in practicing safety precautions at home. Simple things like not leaving the stove unattended or putting away pointy utensils down. Now that the husband has entered the medical field, I’m learning a lot more of these safety tips from him. His patients require special needs so the use of say, bathroom safety products is a must for them. I think the fact that our house is located near a fire station makes me feel a lot safer.
Still on Vacation Mode
Even after the holidays, we are still on a vacation mode. We have been stressed out lately that we both could not sleep peacefully. I hope when the dust settles we will be able to go back to our normal schedule. Today, I tried to get my grove back by cleaning up my office space instead of imagining of a vacation at the Outer Banks. There are still some more adjustments to be made but I will share pics soon. I need some color coordinated boxes for design and storage. I have not ordered my office chair yet but that will come soon too. I don’t want to spend too much so I use whatever materials that we already have. You will know what I mean once I start posting the pictures. For now, I have to get some sleep because it is already 2:25AM.
Reunited
And it feels so good! Yay! Timmy went home today. I’m so glad he’s safe. I was so worried about him. I hurriedly fed him and gave him water. He ate a lot and he got lots of hugs from mommy of course.
I’m so happy to see him and so is the Husband. We were all smiles today.
