In Just A Few Hours
…I will bid farewell to my 20’s forever. I confess that I do have the peter-pan thinking of not wanting to grow up or in my case grow old. It is inevitable, I know so let me indulge myself to some anti aging skin care to at least delay it a bit.
I won’t be making a wish list this year because I’m being realistic. If I have an easily accessible and bottomless mmf drawer then I will be rushing to the mall. Situations changed and I have become more frugal than ever!
Spending
I’m not sure if this is a bad sign to start spending in the first week of the year but I have to out of necessity. First, I just bought glasses online. As I posted before, my old red one is totally busted. With eyes like mine, glasses are essential part of my life. I do own a pair of contact lenses but I still need glasses to rest my eyes from contacts and also for immediate reading needs. I won’t be buying glasses in optical shops for now. They are quite expensive when all I need are just the regular ones. Second, I need a hard drive. Since I use a lot of graphics and images, it takes a whole chunk of space in my internal drive. I’m not sure yet if I will get an external one or just another internal drive. Third, I just upgraded my flickr accout to pro so that I can have unlimited uploads. Then, my family can see what I have been up to lately. All of these were possible, thanks to my hard earned paypal cash.
Money Matters
It is quite important to manage one’s finances wisely especially with this failing economy. Currently, we only have one paycheck (the Husband’s) in our household. Just like other small entrepreneurs, our business is slowly disintegrating. Since we don’t have a steady income, we always find it hard to budget. We tend to either get late bill payments or overspend.
We definitely need a budget software to help properly assess our finances. I actually found one and it is called YNAB (YOU NEED A BUDGET) Pro Software. The software is very user friendly and the whole concept is easy to understand. This just might be the solution to our problems concerning personal budget.
Safe Keeping
It is no secret that a lot of banks in the United States are going bankrupt. This is the reason I’m quite reluctant in opening a bank account. We are talking about hard earned cash here so I want to be very careful. At the rate of what is happening to the economy, I’m considering offshore banking. I might as well look up some information about seychelles company formation since the Husband’s business is no longer stable.
Things I Do When I Ran Out of Moolah
1. Stare at my purse/wallet for one whole minute.
2. Borrow money from a co-worker or friend and promise to pay them next pay day.
3. Think of 101 ways to save money next time.
4. Gradually withdraw money from my savings account
5. Regret buying that dress on a whim or eating at that expensive italian resto.
6. Check online your payroll account, refresh it from time to time and wish that someone from payroll made a mistake.
7. Check every inch of the house for coins and paper bills.
8. Count the number of days till next pay day.
9. Think of all the people who owe me money no matter how small the amount is.
10. Complain about my job and how much I need a raise
