Let Me Educate You

School is about to start again. For students, it is back to hitting the books and working on loads of assignments and projects. For us, it means lots of traffic in the area. Hehe. Since we don’t have kids yet, I’m enjoying this free time in my hands. I know, by the time they come, I will be one of those mommies who wake up early in the morning prepping the kids for school and checking their assignments when they get home. I do want my future kids to be able to attend college. I wouldn’t mind enrolling them to extra classes like sat prep courses for them to make it to good universities. My parents made sure that all of us (their children) got into college and I want the same for my kids too.

School is Cool

The husband mentioned tonight that every memory that I mention to him is almost related to school. It is not surprising since I spent most of my life in school. I started school at age 4 and finished college at age 21. I surely wouldn’t mind going back to school for further studies, an MBA perhaps but I think I prefer enrolling to an online university because of the convenience it brings. However, finding legitimate online degree programs can be tough at times. Research is quite important in making a right decision on where to go.   In one of my searches online, I found Western Governor University that offers several degrees and including MBA. The website states that they are accredited and I double checked at the US Dept. of Education database and indeed they are.   Not all online universities are accredited though.  Be careful and research thoroughly on the school of your choice.  Reading up on customer reviews also helps in choosing an online school that will suit your needs.

Finish!

Sorry for the long overdue post.  We are mostly out and about these days.  Before the weekend, we went to his school to get his certificate of completion.  Yes, he is done with school.  I’m so proud of him.  Right now, he is already checking out places where he can work.  I hope he will get the best offer and a good schedule.  It is too early to say but this job should bring stability even if we are experiencing the worst economy.  The husband said that once we are settled, we can go to places whenever we want to or as simple as getting New York Yankees tickets in the weekend.  All in all, God has been good to us and I think life will keep on getting better as long as we work hard and trust in Him.

Almost Done

I’m so proud of the husband.  He is almost done with school.  By next month, he can start working on a new profession.  I know that it was hard for him and I appreciate the effort and hardwork to give us a better life.  Things will get better soon and I know it will.  More than likely his new job will get us health insurance since it is in the medical field.  Hopefully this year I can get a job too so we can start saving for our future home.  Then once we have kids, we can decide on which of those term life insurance quotes to get.

Student Life

I think in the future I will have more posts about my student life then.  There is just so much to tell.  I spent half of my life in school so it have stored alot of memories of school.  The good, bad and ugly – I remember all of them.  Anyway, I remember when I had to study for SAT but we have a different name for it then.  My highschool had to review us for the tests.  It is fortunate that students now have an option to take advantage of SAT Test Prep.  If I had this kind of opportunity before, then I probably signed up for it.  SAT scores are quite important for college applications.  I didn’t fail my SATs though, thank God.  But I think I could have gotten better scores if I had extra help like one-on-one tutoring.
